Northern Virginia Wedding Photography bride and groom intimate moment

Northern Virginia Wedding Photographer  | Candid & Real

Wedding photography for couples who want real moments, not a performance. Based in Warrenton, VA and serving all of Northern Virginia.

Wedding photography for couples who care more about people than perfection.

While my approach is primarily documentary, I always set aside time for family formals and gently guided portraits, keeping them efficient and relaxed so you can get back to enjoying your day.

I photograph weddings across Northern Virginia for couples who want their day documented honestly, without turning it into a performance. My approach is rooted in storytelling and presence: I step back when moments are unfolding naturally, and offer gentle direction when it helps things feel easier, not staged. The result is a wedding gallery that reflects how your day actually felt, the relationships, the energy, and the in-between moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

Words from couples who value real moments and storytelling.

“Amanda was so wonderful to work with for our engagement and wedding photos. The pictures are gorgeous, and she captured so many precious moments of our day. She was easy to work with, professional, and flexible. We are in love with our photos and would recommend her to anyone.”

This is for you if…

  • You care more about how your wedding day feels than how it looks on social media.

  • You want your relationships, laughter, and quiet moments documented as they naturally happen.

  • You want a photographer who will gently guide you when needed, then step back so you can be fully present.

  • You value timeless photographs over trends.

  • You believe the people you're celebrating with matter just as much as the details you've planned.

And yes, we'll absolutely create beautiful family portraits and relaxed portraits of the two of you. You'll never be left wondering what to do.

This might not be the right fit if…

  • You're looking for an all-day editorial or fashion-inspired experience.

  • You want every moment directed or recreated for the camera.

  • Your priority is creating content rather than experiencing your wedding day.

  • You're shopping primarily for the lowest price rather than the photographer whose work and approach resonate with you.

“What it’s like to work with me on your wedding day”

On a wedding day, I’m a calm, steady presence, paying attention to what matters while making sure nothing feels rushed or awkward. I work with intention, read the room, and adapt as the day unfolds.

I’ll guide you through the parts of the day that benefit from structure, like family portraits or couple photos and then step back so the real moments can happen naturally. I’m always watching for the small, meaningful things: the way your people interact, the in-between moments, and the energy of the day as it actually unfolds.

From timeline flow to lighting changes to unexpected moments, I bring experience and flexibility so you don’t have to think about the camera, you just get to be present.

"I could not have picked a better photographer to capture our wedding day. Amanda was able to capture the evening while I was able to enjoy it and be present..."
